Ty (pronounced “Dee”) Nguyen is a registered social worker and psychotherapist who is committed to providing her clients with a safe and supportive space to address their concerns. She works with individuals ages 16 and older, and provides appointments via phone or video conferencing.

Ty practices from a client-centered, trauma-informed, and strengths-based perspective where she encourages people’s self-determination and resilience. She also works from an anti-oppressive lens utilizing therapeutic techniques, such as cognitive-behavioural, mindfulness-based, narrative, and solution-focused brief therapy. Her areas of interests include working with individuals with diverse backgrounds, anxiety, depression, anger, stress management, grief, relationships, pain/illness management, and wholistic well-being.

Ty earned her Master of Social Work at Wilfrid Laurier University, in addition to her Bachelor of Social Work at the University of Western Ontario and Bachelor of Arts at Brock University. Throughout her career and education, Ty gained experience working in the following areas: individual counselling, community healthcare, educational settings, justice system, political office, an Indigenous community outreach organization, French community organizations, international social work, and adventure-based settings.
