Al acquired a Masters degree in Social Work from Wilfrid Laurier University in 1994. In 2011 – 2012 he studied at the ADR Institute in Toronto and obtained certification in Alternate Dispute Resolution and Family Mediation.

Al is a member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers and is registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.

Al specializes in offering therapy to children, adolescents and their families. He believes that each stage of life offers unique purpose and responsibilities and he draws on numerous therapeutic models to help individuals realize their potential.

Areas of interest and experience include parenting issues, anxiety, depression, shame, grief, isolation, family reunification, divorce and abuse.

Al also offers mediation to individuals or organizations where relationships have become “stuck”. He also believes strongly in the mediation model for families in the midst of separation/divorce to assist them in formulating a parenting plan including custody and access issues and other important areas of decision making.
